ROADMAP is a project dedicated to bringing the knowledge about disasters, developed over the years by the scientific community, closer to policymakers and risk management managers, in order to improve risk governance and ultimately have positive impacts on communities. It is focused on connecting national and community initiatives in risk management, in order to contribute to the definition of common policies applicable at the national level, while at the same time proposing to the European Union the best practices developed in the various member states and associated countries that can represent a standard reference for future national and European initiatives.

Specifically, the project will lead to the definition of a “European doctrine on disaster risk and crisis management”. Following a bottom-up approach, good practices in civil protection and risk reduction will be collected, which will then be shared through bulletins and periodic publications with decision-makers and professionals in the field. This work will result in a vision paper in which the results of thematic work will be elaborated and systematized to outline the actions to be promoted to move from knowledge to the necessary tools and procedures for policy and decision-makers for risk management.

ReLUIS participates in the project as a member of the CI3R consortium.

Funding Agency: DG ECHO – Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations
